History

Part of this 75 acre development was once the Wilmington Driving Park. The Park was opened in August of 1875, by the Wilmington Driving Assocation, a group of horse breeders and racers. The Park housed a horse racecourse and fair grounds. In honor of one of the breeds of horses that were raced, we've named a street in the subdivision Normans Way Court. In the early 1900's the racecourse was purchased by the Ryan brothers who converted it into a car racetrack. Eventually the property became a privately owned farming parcel and expanded to what we bought which was known as the Ropp Farm. Now it will become Deer Creek Estates.
